{"id":298,"date":"2014-04-05T16:25:24","date_gmt":"2014-04-05T07:25:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/adreamer.godohosting.com\/en\/?p=298"},"modified":"2014-04-05T16:25:24","modified_gmt":"2014-04-05T07:25:24","slug":"using-intel-haxm-android-x86-emulator-on-osx-mavericks-10-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/milkdrops.net\/en\/archives\/298","title":{"rendered":"Using Intel HAXM Android x86 emulator on OSX Mavericks 10.9"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>After the OSX Mavericks 10.9 update, Android x86 emulator will crash or freeze on start.<\/p>\n<p>I updated all the SDKs on the Android SDK Manager, but it didn&#8217;t help.\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5;\">After some googling, it turns out I wasn&#8217;t the only person with such defect.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Intel released the HAXM hotfix for OSX 10.9 and Windows 8.1.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/software.intel.com\/en-us\/blogs\/2013\/11\/06\/intelr-haxm-hot-ffixes-for-os-x-mavericks-109-and-windows-81-available-for\">Info<br \/>\n<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/software.intel.com\/en-us\/android\/articles\/intel-hardware-accelerated-execution-manager\">Download page<\/a><\/p>\n<p>After installing the hotfix, still my virtual devices didn&#8217;t work.<br \/>\n(Also be aware that you couldn&#8217;t use VirtualBox 4.2.14 simultaneously with the emulator.)<\/p>\n<p>After some testing, Android 4.x emulator works well without a problem, but only the Android 2.3.3 emulator still crashes on start.<\/p>\n<p>I was using the emulators with the <strong>&#8216;Use Host GPU&#8217;<\/strong> option(because it is recommended), but <strong>disabling that option<\/strong> makes the Android 2.3.3 x86 emulator work.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure whether it&#8217;s a applicable solution for all, but if you have the same problem, give it a try.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After the OSX Mavericks 10.9 update, Android x86 emulator will crash or freeze on start.
